According to the relative position of the upper and lower molds during the bending process, the bending process can be divided into two methods: gap bending and bottom bending.
1. Gap bending
During the bending process, there is no compression between the upper mold and the lower mold. After adjusting the depth of the upper mold into the opening of the lower mold to obtain the desired bending viewpoint, this bending method is called gap bending. The deeper the upper mold enters the lower mold, the smaller the bending viewpoint; Due to the elasticity of the data, it is necessary to consider excessive bending to control the amount of rebound when bending.
The advantage of the gap bending is that a smaller number of molds can be used to achieve a variety of viewpoints of the forming process, and the required processing pressure is small. Generally, in order to obtain the bending effect, the ratio of the thickness B of the data to the width V of the V-shaped opening of the lower die can be selected as follows:
(1) When the thickness of the data is below 12.7mm, B: V is 1: 8;
(2) When the thickness of the data is 12.7~22.2mm, B: V is 1:10;
(3) When the material thickness is above 22.2mm, B:V is 1:12.
The above three ratios are standard mold ratios, the data is low carbon steel, and the data strength is 43.4kg/mm2.
When compiling the bending processing program, the above parameters can be set in the CNC system, and the processing program is generated after the system automatically processes it.
2. Bending at the bottom
When the bottom bending is selected, the metal plate is pressed between the upper and lower molds, and then the required bending viewpoint and bend radius are obtained.
Bottom bending is generally suitable for the production of plates with a thickness of less than 2mm in the production of medium and large batches. The bending radius is small, the bending accuracy is high, and the accuracy is good. It should be noted that the working pressure of the bottom bending is greater than the working pressure of the gap bending, and is generally more than three times.
The viewpoint of the bottom bending mold should be compatible with the viewpoint and data of the plate. Generally, when bending low-carbon steel at the bottom, the viewpoints of the upper and lower molds should be the same as the desired viewpoint of the plate. When the bottom bending method is used for processing, the ratio of the mold ratio, that is, the thickness B of the sheet material and the opening distance V of the lower mold is: B: V=1:6.
